Anthurium villenaorum is a rare aroid from the cloud forests of Peru. It grows on mossy trunks or in humus-rich soil at elevations around 2,600–4,300 ft. The plant produces elongated, lance-shaped leaves that are thick, velvety, and deep green, with new leaves unfurling lighter and gradually darkening. Leaves grow relatively large compared with many indoor Anthuriums, developing a broad, textured presence as they mature. It grows from a rhizomatous stem and can develop a semi-upright or low-climbing habit. Flowers are inconspicuous, so it is cultivated primarily for its foliage. It prefers bright, indirect light, high humidity, and a well-draining, airy substrate, making it suitable for indoor pots under stable conditions.
