Pachira glabra ‘Aurea Variegated’ (Money Tree) is a tropical tree native to Central and South America, where it grows in warm, humid lowland forests. In nature, it’s commonly found along riverbanks and seasonally flooded areas, adapted to consistently moist soils, high humidity, and bright, filtered light beneath the forest canopy. The aurea variegation appears along the outer margins of the leaflets, creating a golden edge around the species’ naturally glossy green foliage. Like the standard species, it prefers evenly moist soil, warm temperatures, and bright indirect light that reflects its native understory habitat.
Highly variegated leaves are prone to browning and may be more vulnerable during the shipping process.
