Anthurium sp. Trilobe 'Rio Guanche' is the name for this specific cultivar, with "trilobe" describing its three-lobed leaf shape. The leaves tell you what matters here: a long central lobe flanked by two flared side lobes, a deeply quilted surface, and veins that run in ridges you can feel with a finger. New growth comes in soft and yellow-green with a wash of red along the margins and down the petiole before it hardens off into a matte, textured green.

This particular plant traces back to a wild collected specimen out of a private collection in Miami, which is where our mother plant came from. It's a slow grower, and because of that we rarely have cuttings available from her at all, so when one does come up it's worth paying attention to. We keep her at high humidity, in the 75 to 80 percent range, and low to medium light, closer to what she'd get filtered through a canopy than sitting in direct sun. New leaves come in slowly under those conditions but consistently, each one showing that same red edge before settling into green.

If you've been hunting for a trilobe with real texture and color in new growth, and you don't mind that patience is part of owning one, this is worth having in the collection.
