Hoya wibergiae is native to the forests of the Philippines, where it grows as an epiphytic vine, rooting into mossy bark and leaf litter in the dappled light of the canopy rather than in soil at ground level. The species is well loved among Hoya collectors for its leaf texture: thick, quilted foliage marked with a fine silvery speckling that catches the light differently depending on the angle you view it from. The 'Pink Splash' selection carries this further, with new growth emerging in soft rose and lilac tones before settling into the mature silver-flecked green. It is a small but telling detail that only shows itself as the vine actively pushes new growth, which makes each flush worth watching for.
